DESCRIPTION:The legendary Battle of Bhimber stands as one of the greatest victories of the Chib Rajputs.By the mid-18th century\, Bhimber had risen as the most powerful Muslim kingdom in the Dogra hills\, stretching from Nowshera to the outskirts of Rajouri\, the historic capital of Jammu & Kashmir. Meanwhile\, in the Punjab plains\, conspiracies mounted as Ranjit Singh\, after subduing the Sikh Misls\, expanded his dominion. Though he managed to seize parts of Bhimber\, he could not subdue Raja Sultan Khan\, the indomitable ruler of the region. The conquered lands were granted to a distant relative of Sultan Khan—but treachery was swiftly answered. The Raja crushed the betrayal\, executed the traitor\, and reclaimed his territories.
