The Chib shajra (شجرہ نسب خاندان چب راجپوت) in Thakur Major Singh’s Tarikh-e-Chibhal (c. 1926), the oldest written history of the Chib Rajputs of Bhimber, is a roll of rulers numbered from 1 to 481 in a single line of descent. It runs from Raja Bhum Chand, legendary founder of the Katoch royal house of Kangra, through Raja Chib Chand (No. 458) to Raja Sultan Khan (No. 481), the last Chib Raja of Bhimber in today’s Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
